With most of the restriction in relation to Covid-19 now lifted around Australia (except for in some parts of Victoria of course), Comfort Inn & Suites Burwood is excited to welcome back visitors from all around the country to visit our beautiful city of Sydney.
If you haven’t been to the suburb of Burwood before, we have gathered some tips on things to do during your stay with us. These are great activities for young and old and won’t require you to spend a lot of money. Some are even free of charge.
Just a short walk from our grounds, and across the road from a large Westfield Shopping centre, you’ll find the popular Burwood Park. This lovely, well-manicured park in the centre of our busy suburb offers loads of fun for children and adults alike. There is a small café located within the park and a small lake which supports ducks and other wildlife for people to feed. There is also a well-equipped playground area for the young ones and several impressive sculptures to look at. If you’ve come here to relax, there is lots of space for people to just walk around or lie down on the grass and enjoy nature.
CITYHEROES POOL & BILLIARDS
If you are a group of friends looking for some fun, or a pool shark seeking to hone your skills, you’ve come to the right place – CityHeroes Pool & Billiards has even been called one of the best pool halls in Australia. This place boasts a nice selection of cues, a display room at the entrance and cool decorations. The main hall also features diamond pool tables, professional Chinese 8 ball tables and snooker tables. Not into pool? Maybe try out some of their arcade games and private Mahjong games (tile-based game).
CROYDON PARK HOTEL
Even though Comfort Inn & Suites Burwood’ own Zeina’s Café serves up some of the tastiest meals for both breakfast and dinner, we understand if you like to venture out during your stay. Take the opportunity when visiting to meet some of our friendly locals at the Croydon Park Hotel. This is a small but charming pub which offers up for good conversation and a satisfying selection of beer on tap. This place is well-known for its friendly atmosphere and well-priced meals and beverages. This is the place if you’re a lover of a classic pub grub.
If you have had enough of lavish food and drinks during your stay, it might be time to move your feet. Why not go for a nice stroll down at the Warrien Reserve? This nice little spot offers up a kids’ playground, public restrooms and plenty of flowering shrubs and mature gums to admire along your walk. This is a great walking trail for people of all fitness levels and ages (with the right walking shoes on that is!). If you’re starting to feel a bit peckish after your walk, the park also features a BBQ area adjacent to the playground. Just make sure you leave it in the same condition you found it.
